We are looking for 20 testers who will put it to work on real drawings from their daily job. Sign-ups are open from today.

How things have gone so far

Beta 1 ran from the end of June with a small group: few companies, but close contact with each. Beta 2 widened that circle in September — and that was the round in which the programme picked up speed. Since it began, 38 beta releases have gone out to testers. That is more than one every two days on average.

The pace is not an end in itself. It happens because feedback from everyday use goes straight into the next release: send in a drawing where something is wrong, and the fix is often on your own machine within days — no reinstall, through the built-in update function.

Who we are looking for

The most valuable feedback does not come from a test environment, it comes from real work. So we are looking for people who balloon drawings anyway — in quality assurance, in work preparation, on initial sample inspections.

What helps most is variety: drawings from different CAD systems, exported in different ways, of different ages. That is what decides whether detection holds up. Almost every improvement of recent weeks came out of drawings that looked nothing like anything we would have invented. Twenty participants with twenty different sets of drawings are worth far more than twenty with the same one.

What comes of it — on both sides

Taking part is free of charge, with the full feature set and no watermark. Every release comes with notes that do not merely list what is new, but say what to look out for in this round — and where a limit currently runs. Questions and bug reports go through a ticket system straight to the developer, not through a sales department.

What we ask in return: use the software on real work and report what you notice. Wrong values matter most — a missing stamp gets noticed when you look through a drawing, a figure that is slightly off does not. That is exactly where development is focused.

Signing up

If you would like to join, sign up on the beta page. The form asks for your operating system — please fill that in: which build is available when depends on the platform, and we will get back to you accordingly.

The 20 places will be allocated before 18 October. Sign up now and you are in from the start; anyone who does not get a place moves up into the following round.

For an overview of what the application does and where its limits are, see Stamp drawings.
